New Approaches in Cartoon and Animation Education: Model of Selçuk University Faculty of Fine Arts Cartoon and Animation Department

Summary : The New Media Paradigm causes changes in the field of Cartoon and Animation as well as in many disciplines in the field of design. Especially Youtube and digital broadcasting platforms have a great contribution to this. Today, we witness that the projects prepared for publication in conventional mass media are rapidly adapted to the new media. The converting user/audience also determines the content that will be presented to them. Of course, this interaction also causes the designers who develop the content to transform, making it necessary to equip them with new ways of thinking. The main purpose of this study is to determine new educational approaches that will enable Selcuk University Fine Arts Faculty Cartoon and Animation Department students to have the knowledge and skills to produce content suitable for new media.
